This morning my three-year-old was sitting ever so quietly on the floor looking at some books. I stepped outside to hang up a wet floor mat. When I returned I sat at the computer as I was listening to an amazing audio story I had just found through a fellow blogger. (See next post.)
I was listening intently as I heard her say, “Mommy, this is so sticky!” Her pudgy little finger was stuck inside a blob of purple goo that was once a glue stick. I asked her if she knew she wasn’t supposed to be playing with the glue, (All the while wondering where she got the glue because I thought they were all put up.) and she told me yes it was wrong.
So here is the lesson. 🙂 You had to know this was coming! Right?
Don’t put your hands in other peoples business!~ Or as I tell the kids, “If it isn’t yours, don’t touch it.”
When we put ourselves into a sticky situation, we often get involved in a mess that is not ours. We need to ask God for wisdom before we try to fix a situation that isn’t ours to try to repair. Maybe they (or we) are in the situation because of our foolishness and God is trying to teach us something valuable.
We can avoid sticking our fingers in a glue stick if we “Seek the throne, before we make someone’s problem our own.” Tara Young
Avoid that sticky situation today friends! 🙂
