The Chisel

The Chisel
By Tara Young

Where in my heart does your chisel seek?
Is it to make me more humble and meek?

Is it the anger and rage that lays bare.
Of this you are making me daily aware.

Am I allowing the Master to work,
Or with my tasks do I lazily shirk?

God I invite you chisel and all,
To take the ugliness and make it fall.

To be more of a reflection of You.
To be a creation who follows through.

With your plan, your drawings, Your living stone,
While You work, I am never alone.

Thanks for not leaving me an unfinished work.
Thank you for loving me with every quirk.

You are the Master, I am your piece.
Please finish Your work, this prisoner release.
